Nicki Minaj continua na liderança da parada de rap da Billboard mas o destaque da semana vai pro Kendrick Lamar, que subiu direto pra oitava posição com o novo single dele. O nome dele é i e deve estar no próximo album do Kendrick Lamar, que ainda não recebeu nome. O som foi produzido pelo Rahki e é muito mais animado que a maioria das músicas que o Kendrick participa. O som tem uns samples e uma banda ao vivo, como eu disse no post que eu fiz da musica anteriormente, nem parece uma música de rap atual. Ela foi bem controversa, muita gente não gostou, mas eu acho que pelo menos o Kendrick tem o mérito de fazer algo diferente, não seguir só o que está em voga atualmente. Além do mais não é a melhor música do Kendrick mas também não é uma musica ruim. Ela não tem video ainda, mas pra ver é só clicar acima.
Update: Saiu o video de i e ele é sensacional! A resolução do Kendrick de não fazer o que se espera dele acho que é o uma das razões pela qual ele é tão interessante e pra mim esse video é prova concreta disso. O Kendrick dança, faz uma critica bem de leve ao racismo policial, enfim, é um video com várias camadas, porém várias camadas que tu não espera do Kendrick. Enfim, altos video, tem que ver pra ver qual é.

Nicki Minaj is still on the lead of Billboard's Hot Rap Chart but this week's highlight goes to Kendrick Lamar with his new single, i. It should be on his next still unnamed album. The song was produced by Rahki and it's much more fun and happy than most songs that Kendrick does. It has some samples and sounds like a live band is doing the beat, which makes it sound nothing like most of the other songs on the charts, which are basically DJ Mustard beats, trap beats or EDM-rap beats. It was kinda controversial, since many folks didn't like it, but I quite enjoyed it. Kendrick at least has the merit of not falling for most rap cliches over the beat he chose. Beside that, even though it ain't the best Kendrick song ever, it ain't a bad song either. It ain't got a video yet but you can check the audio above.
